the drums oh the drums
the heat
everywhere around you
surrounding you admiring you
i am a dreamer a drifter
here today gone tomorrow
i work in a sideshow
i am a clown in a tragedy
i sell sea shells by the sea shore
this hot night of all nights
catches me out i am oppressed and burnt
the darkness offers no cool
my feet heat up
my heart drowses in its stolid chambers
my brain sluggish in its stew of memories
my dream of sanctuary…..

some music w/ that please?

In one of our major newspapers, The Sun-Times, I always check for the coldest and hottest places on earth. And right now- Australia has been topping the heat charts. Its always a different town-community everyday that’s over 110° F.
I am praying for ya ladies and gents- that’s dangerous heat, please be careful and follow the ‘heat warnings and advisories’ hage plenty of water to consume, was it very hot when you chaps played at the ‘zoo’ gig?
Being hot under the lights or with little to no air circulation is one thing, but your current summer heatwave is so very dangerous. So, please be extra careful- and be very watchful over all the beloved children (no matter what the age)- and keep ur pets inside.
Have a great day- I hope this week is productive for you- so when are you actually going to lmove in2 ur new place? Are you in it already? I/we would all like to see some pix of your new surroundings.

still coming down after the zoo show too?
that and the heat would make bad bedfellows…..
going to check out mojo mag later.
will keep ya posted.
Sounds like you already have sanctuary there judging from this! Anyway, I’d take your sanctuary of heat anyday over the freezing cold that is currently my world.
Last night was warm. Thankfully I was zapped into a state of sudden and deep unconsciousness. I consoled myself before sleep that almost a year to the night, it was still 30 C after dark, whereas I think last night was about 25… could have been agitated at the thought of my mother going under the knife today, and on waking, am a bit. But I slept as if under ether. Hoping her sleep under ether today will be equally peaceful and oblivious. Anyway, I heard things change and I guess for the best.
My prayers are with and for your sweet mother and you, I hope all turns out well.

No, you’re not a clown sk!…..thankfully we had a cool change last night, Melby has been unusually hot, hot, hot for weeks with no relief, so a bit of coolness is oh-so-nice. I thought of you last night as GB&VG from Undies were here recording in the back, it reminded me when you were here sweating&singing back there in that crazy heatwave Melby had a few years ago that started the bushfires…happy memories indeed (of the recording that is!)
counting down the days til Van Park, can’t wait!
love Manda
Made me long for summertime, a less clown-filled summertime. Sooo cold here…
Where is ‘here’ Jesiah ???

Evansville, Wisconsin. A small town south of Madison.
You are so Neptunian sk.
the fish are swimming but they remain still
a light is flickering but it was already dim
the beasts are grazing but none are in the field
the birds are flying but they don’t have their wings
a mighty lion is roaring, but nobody can hear him
the priests are teaching, yet they remain in sin
we’ve already started, but we still don’t know where to begin
What happend to the Galaxy Shoes post? i wanted to ceck that out again? About this post…it’s actually pretty nice here in the midwest USA for winter for Feb 1st, only 65 degrees! Nice!
How are you accessing Steve’s blog posts, Kraig? From what I can tell that post is still there. There is no title to the post you are looking for and that makes it a bit tricky to locate in the archive. Try this:
– go to the ttb.com home page
– click on blog header
– scroll down until you see the post you are looking for
– continue to scroll down to the bottom of the post where you will see comments
– click on comments and that will take you to that post
Hope this helps!
Do u know what sux, thought by now we 2 mature adults would have laughed off our obstacles and been back whereas we came. Guess that will never hapn, that was nice of u to help Kraig. I still to this day read all ur contributions.
I hope life has slowed down and improved for you, Holly.
Darrin
Thanks Holly, but i still cannot access it, i looked into the archives, and it is there, but you cannot click on any links to look at the reviews…i was trying to see if anyone answered my question about HOB, Steve did, but then i answered him, and i went back to check to see his 2nd answer and now i do not see any replies, only the blog itself…go check it out yourself, it’s the one with him holding the guitar, you can read the blog, but there is no hyperlink to any of our replies, if there is, post the link here please
Cheers!
Kraig
Don’t click on archives, just click on the blog header itself and then go from there.
But here is the direct link if that doesn’t work:

If you haven’t already read about Tesla, you may find it a pleasant diversion. A cool thing on a hot day? (ha ha)
This 6′-6″ Croatian was genius beyond genius. Wonderfully inspiring story if you get a chance to read about him. Many of the technological advancements attributed to Edison and Marconi, among others, were really invented by Tesla.
They say he visualized his inventions so clearly throughout his life that at times he would be seen waving his arms to try to determine what was real and what was a vision (as you see people do in good 3D movies sometimes). He believed he could will things to happen, and this occurred more and more through his life.
He attributed much of his mental prowess to the child-rearing techniques of his parents, who had their children doing mathematical calculations in their head, analyzing what was wrong with various scenarios, and trying to read each others’ minds.
I was delighted to find he abstained from eating meat:
“Many races living almost exclusively on vegetables are of superior physique and strength. In view of these facts, every effort should be made to stop the wanton and cruel slaughter of animals, which must be destructive to our morals”.
There is at least one documentary and a dramatization of his life if you have access to a movie rental service. The book has much more, however. Another book that is supposed to be even better is The Wizard.
The one I am reading is Tesla, Master of Lightning, by Margaret Cheney and Robert Uth.

So, if you can find a copy (or on Kindle) sit down with your feet in a tub of ice water and enjoy.

I have been looking for a ‘great’ book to read and I am following ur advice. I just finished ‘Area 51′ , this was a long tedious read. It was ‘supposedly’ filled with many historical facts and interviews with the men and women working on secret government projects for spying and other capers. I chose it because after WW2 my father worked along side Dr. Von Braun for some time b4 he began the family life (my dad). The book was entertaining but I felt somewhat empty because, though it did paint a clearer view of what our American military was doing prior and during the cold war. Some of the book felt like a ‘reinactment’ of sort.
But I always have at least 2 books going at once and I love ‘bios’ of musicians or scientists/professionals of some field.
And I am reading ‘World War Z’ right now- its very entertaining – I can c why HollyWeird wants to get a screenplay up and running- this story has a Brad Pitt feel about it- I read somewhere on line that he is interested in the possible movie attributed to this piece of fiction (or is it really non-fiction…one cannot truly. B 100% sure)
Thanks for the prelude to madness …
(what I call chosing and beggining another book)

With my interest piqued in Tesla, I now have 3 more books from the library on the subject. In Search of Nikola Tesla, by F. David Post looks like the easiest read. Mr. Post is a scientist who was commissioned to look back over Tesla’s research and see how much has been disproved, or how much has been passed over but would still improve our lives.
The things Tesla was working on are absolutely fantastic. He almost had a system built (a huge tower with a dome on it) that supposedly was going to supply free electricity to the whole world wirelessly. His financial backers got wind of the ramifications of the project and the rest is history (or unfortunately, not history, as the tower was torn down).
Tesla was also, despite his acute phobia of germs, extremely fond of New York’s pigeons and frequently mended their injuries when he could. He felt he had ESP with a particular white pigeon, whom he made somewhat of a pet. He did believe in ESP.
That people like Tesla existed, and indeed that our SK exists, are never ending sources of inspiration and hope contrasted with the many dolts (sorry to sound arrogant, as I am probably closer to the dolt level myself).
And the fact that so many besides Tesla are vegetarian – Pythagoras, Socrates, DaVinci, Einstein, Albert Schweitzer, Thoreau, SK etc. gives me hope for humanity.
Yes, SK, I am comparing you to these greats. You are certainly, as you put it, at least “the bee’s knees” hee hee.

thanks for the kind words !
I fully and 100% completely believe in ESP
as life reverberates a voice is heard …oh, my! a kingdom I would give for a hard hat
i spat out the breathless white hot night
i wished it gone, i cursed its yearning
to merge and placate
i stoked it with ice as i stomped on its longing
i washed it from my pores, cleaned and purified
it will never forget how i fought for slumber
when it needed me through the night
how i begged, enticed, cajoled its soothing radiance to come
then slammed the door in its face
erasing from memory all
of my desire
condemned now as a fair weather friend
i have recoiled from the wasps of spite
sent to assail
to rattle my blood and bone
i surrender, i yield
i have no defence to break the hostile wakings alone
and i offer now my unconditional embrace
Nice !!!
For all those who appreciate the original prog trio…

I always feel a bit out of sorts and sluggish in the humidity too Steve. Must be our Celtic blood. It is said that Port Macquarie has the best temperature all round on the east coast of NSW! Good luck with the move, such a stressful thing till you get in! xxx
