Now let’s pray for a quick, obstacle free recovery. Minna is in great hands, a loving mother and father – sisters and extended family…
Never underestimate the power of prayer….but it must continue because the road to recovery is
often filled with difficult challenges…..Minna still needs daily well-wishes to gain her strength and fight the aftereffects of post-op….., this I know first hand and often-I still am in shaky shape since 2 procedures in my cervical spine over the past 90 days…
YES!!! Good gnus indeed! And you look like you’re feeling better too. I hope her recovery is nice and speedy and you enjoy your time with them. Love to all of you. ♥
Excellent news! Wishing her continued success in her recovery. Just listened to the Saint Lou Lou song, and it’s absolutely gorgeous! I can definitely hear your influence yet it’s all their own sound too. Beautiful and brilliant.
Good on ya (and your daughter)! For what it`s worth I went through brainsurgery some years ago. A cyst, as large as a tennis ball, was located in my cerebellum (you know, that little brain somewhere in the back of the head). In the time leading up to to the op I kept having these strange hallucinations/flashbacks and feelin somewhat weird, but thought of it as the after effects of a gloriously misspent youth. When the cyst showed up on their screening equipment I was rushed into hospital, neurological dept, and went through a seven hour op. My skull was opened up and that alien ball of anti-matter successfully removed.
And here I am, many years later, typing away as if nothing ever happened. Fit as a fiddle with all my senses intact, I believe – what my neighbours and children think is another matter……
My point being, I`m sure your daughter will be fine.
Brain surgery is ART and brain surgeouns are ARTISTS.
It’s good to see a jet-lagged face replaced by a big smile !
Trust the doctors more often
btw, I think Saint Lou Lou’s track deserves nine companions to make a wonderful first album…
That’s great news, what a relief for you all! I sent a comment off yesterday (first one for some time! Although I keep a close eye on the ‘goings on’ at TTB), and I think it’s still in the ether somewhere i guess as it hasn’t turned up yet…anyway, was just passing on my thoughts and well wishes to you and your daughter(s) over there and saying good on you for being there for her etc…oh, also I had a listen to Saint Lou Lou and i love the name, the sound and the song!…looking forward to hearing more…
As you set out for Ithaka
hope the voyage is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them:
you’ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
wild Poseidon—you won’t encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.
Hope the voyage is a long one.
May there be many a summer morning when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you come into harbors seen for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind—
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to gather stores of knowledge from their scholars.
Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you are destined for.
But do not hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you are old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.
Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you would not have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaka won’t have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you will have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.
All the greek myths with their monsters and trials and tribulations can be taken as allegory for persevering and overcoming our psychological monsters and thereby achieving spiritual triumphs. I think that is why they resonate, our essence knows this.
great to hear this, what a relief
i got quite addicted to anna miranda (the song… it’s so damn good) over the last 2 days and was wondering… any other songs about your daughters? besides the swan lake, walk with me…?
Fantastic news. Really loved the girls tune as well – look forward to hearing lots more. I went under the knife first time ever today, what a weird trip, needle in arm – gone – wake up – bandages. Now I’m lying here listening to popul vuh to calm me down.
Glad to hear she’s gonna be ok! Don’t wanna start a Q and A but I was just wondering what you thought of the recent trend in re-releasing albums as anniversary editions with extra or the docs on how an album was made. I’m litening to P=A right now and would love to see either. Again, glad your daughters ok, don’t know what I’d do if mine was in surgery. EDD
I am so glad to hear that Minna is going to be fine. I didn’t get a chance to wish you all well but you all were in my thoughts and prayers. St Lou Lou’s song is amazing, I love it. They are their father’s daughters, beautiful xxx

A friend sent this to me tonight, and I pass it to you.
“you will have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.”
One of my favourite poems by the Poet of Alexandria
Of course I’ve never heard of the guy. I was all like, “Is this Kilbey???” Lord, I need an education!!!
