within my limited power
not beyond the scope of the source
unconnected or intra-braineously
where does all this stuff keep coming from
this flow of ideas to us
you who whisper these things seem so very far away
but you’re here aren’t you ….all around and everything
therefore it is senseless to sin within oneself
and all our trespasses are against only us
i feel your hand as a great sorrow sometimes
i see your eyes in the eyes of beasts abattoir bound
the neglected children abandoned in hells
the great ugliness amid all the beauty
the catch and the barb and the trap and the sting
somehow i’m an actor popped up in this play
i gotta play my part and i stick to the scripture in my head
oh i am someone from so long ago
how many times do we visit this earth
oh i am someone who travels a lot
with anger with mercy moving through time
for the time being me
i don’t know who you are
but i am under a heavy doom doom doom
lets go up to my room
i read a review of my garage sutra
say best ever record from the future
you see once your mind is open to let it come in
verily a council house mystic
my bible is old and fills me full of fear
they should have toned down the brimstone man
concentrate on the angels at the gate of eden
if you want fire i mean
but i do believe that before even noah and arks
the great gilgamesh strives in a fragment of a flood flash
some pre biblical cat some ancient groover
had cooked up this mess a long time ago
in nineveh why i was some big shot cloaked with intrigue
no i was an old slave woman who worked all her life
no i was this priest in a library deciphering omens
no i was a soldier who got an arrow in his neck
no i was a poacher who stole the kings beasts
no i was the drunkard under a tree
many voices clamour within us
starseed earthbound
stop and listen!
i hear something at work
the pump and throb of blood round the body
beyond that the sea merges with the traffic a distant sibilance
i arrive at a place no words can enter or come out of
nevertheless i came to an unknown a black chasm
i know nothing
in there is everything
where one mans nirvana is another mans nightmare
i did my time in there in dreams when i was a kid
im not surprised the cruel things i did
i dreamt of hell roaring at the top of its lungs
it seemed to scream my name
god help me if this dream is true
hell screamed for me because i had senselessly killed bugs and snails
sparrowfall
everything is noticed
i must make amends
this misery we take on for the sake of the creatures
now i know everything i didn’t know then
i wanted to lord it over material nature
i was angry to be a child again after so much work
i was doing quite well until death came along
suddenly interrupted all of my plans
i was some big shot you know well i can’t quite remember
some strange impulse i can’t put into even verse
i am an authentic copy and that is quite something you know
there are one million stories on the tip of my tongue
on the point of my pen i almost remember it all ….almost
what force then guides my roll at the wheel?
at the end of the day then nothing to say really
just goodnight
sleeptight
i will dream you tomorrow

Ancient mythology and music have just married. They had a baby called Garage Sutra…

a huge compliment…I respect JT immensely…

Keep it COMIN MAWN, music, poetry, stuff, mcgruff and all! Ordered the Garage Sutra moments ago and enjoyed it back in 2009 too!? Would have been nice to have a double CD/DVD set with the music on CD and videos also on DVD separately. Shooo Man, nonetheless it’s Duh-Lish!
liking the bill nelson reference here…..
another bloody genius!
The utterly profound nature of ‘no apology no apotheosis’ requires an attempt at a profound response:
I believe there to be five significant living Australian mystics at present: Time Winton, Michael Leunig, Helen Garner, Kevin Hart and Steven Kilbey. Four of these contemporary mystics are writers. Steve Kilbey is a composer, musician, painter, theologian, philosopher, parent and poet.
The poetry, thought, and music of Steve Kilbey represents a new dynamic in religious and spiritual expression and understanding. He gives voice to what many progressive theologians describe as a world-wide meta-religion that transcends the barriers of sectarianism, cultural difference and religious myopia. He writes in what I would term, a ‘new prophetic style’ that draws from the riches of the traditional and organised religions, while vigorously critiquing their constrictions and conventions. It could be said that much of traditional Christian expression and teaching has become constrained by the various denominations’ internal political and institutional concerns. Many religions tend to conservatism when part of human civilisation for centuries, as well as tending towards legalism and expectations of social conformity. Steve Kilbey approaches his faith and spirituality with a fearless and devout rigour that is both disarming and challenging. He critiques the hypocrisy, corruption and indifference of the institutional Church with a searingly critical eye and an acute honesty. What I would call a “fuck that” approach to pharisaism and toward those in Christianity who have conformed to the world and its corrupt structures. He employs a language and vocabulary of startling honesty that ignores conservative conventions that tend to neuter the prophetic voice of social critique. His voice on these matters is authentic and carries weight because he is equally rigorous in his own self-analysis and spiritual discipline.
Steve is highly literate in theological and biblical language and concepts, as well as the traditional writings of Hinduism and Buddhism, yet he brings a completely uninhibited and radical interpretation to them that speaks to the post-Christian, post-modern age in which we live. He is an Elijah or John the Baptist for our times, proclaiming the nearness and demand of God from his position at the edge of things, while being utterly centred in himself. He is prayerful, reflective, steeped in the sacred scriptures and seeking to be in touch with the divine at all times. He has said that he seeks to glorify God in all of his work and life. This spiritual goal is expressed in both Hindu and Christian teaching and theology. He has the depth of spirituality and theology of an Early Church archimandrite, the prayerful insight of a desert ascetic, the love of hymn and song of a Hindu Guru, and the critical eye and voice of an Old Testament prophet. The importance of finding a guru who can impart transcendental knowledge (vidyā) is emphasised in Hinduism. One of the main Hindu texts, the Bhagavad Gita, is a dialogue between God in the form of Krishna and his friend Arjuna, a Kshatriya prince who accepts Krishna as his guru on the battlefield, prior to a large battle. Not only does this dialogue outline many of the ideals of Hinduism, but their relationship is considered an ideal one of Guru-Shishya. Archimandrites were senior monastics given positions of the leadership and teaching of others due to their demonstrated spiritual maturity and insight. The desert ascetics, like St. Anthony, endeavoured to live radically conformed to the example of Christ, loving all people as they loved themselves, and living each day in a spirit of prayer and praise to God, while critiquing the excesses and corruption of the established Church. The Old Testament prophets lived ascetic lives of prayer and devotion to the monotheistic Godhead, while critiquing the idolatry and corruption of their cultures and societies which had drifted away from the original vision and demands of their Judaic monotheistic religion.
Steve has a strong sense of aesthetic theology, in that he perceives the presence of God in the presence of beauty. Keats famously said, “Beauty is truth, truth beauty; that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.” For many theists, God is synonymous with truth. John Keats and Steve Kilbey would agree on this point. Steve sees the presence of the spirit of Vishnu and Christ in the beautiful and the true. Both Keats and Steve Kilbey express their love of beauty and truth in the poetic form; Keats in the highly mannered style of his day, and Steve in a free verse form using humorous word play, self-abnegation and vivid contemporary language and imagery. The inspiration for the settings of much of Steve’s poetry is derived from the environment of the surroundings of his home at Bondi on the coast of the city of Sydney. Bondi is a coastal, littoral zone, and Steve dwells in a littoral zone of spiritual insight – firmly in the world but not conforming to it; deeply connected with humanity but critical of its corruption and falling from grace. He is deeply aware of the frailty of human existence and flawed humanity, because he deeply aware of his own frailty and fallenness, and of his need for the redemptive grace of God.
Steve also has an acute awareness of the superficiality of current Western civilisation in its reverence of celebrity over depth of character and social conscience, justice and contribution. He is well-placed to critique this trend, being a significant part of recent popular culture in the West as a member of the internationally renowned psychedelic pop/rock group, The Church. It is this kind of superficiality and love of the ephemeral that many of the prophets critique in their writings. They perceived that when people began to live lives without vigorous spiritual discipline and constant reflection – the examined life – then they became susceptible to distraction from spiritual truth and its demands, and they began to replace worship of God with the worship of idols.
Steve’s understanding and experience of God is given form and expression by his deep awareness of and connection with the sacred scriptures of both Hinduism and Christianity. He sees God as the omnipresent, ineffable One who creates and sustains all things. He has a deep devotion to the God as revealed in both Vishnu and Christ. In Hinduism, the name Vishnu has the meaning of ‘to enter into, to pervade’, or ‘the all-pervading one.’ An early commentator on the Vedas, Yaska, in his Nirukta, defines Vishnu as vishnu vishate, ‘the one who enters everywhere’, and yad vishito bhavati tad vishnurbhavati, ‘that which is free from fetters and bondages is Vishnu’. The God of Love as revealed in Christ is also seen as the creator and sustainer of all things; as being ineffable and only partially revealed in this life, or ‘time of being’, to use Steve’s own phrase. The God of Love is also seen as transcending all human-made barriers of sin, division and separateness, and as the One who frees us from our transgressions and opens the way to ultimate unity with the Godhead. Vishnu and Christ have no truck with demons and evil…neither does Steven J Kilbey.
thank you chris.
thats incredible
(feeling of unworthiness!)
but
thank you
i might use some of that someday
wow!
Utterly Fascinating !!!
This is some of the finest writing I have read in years. So grateful to have you and many others who make up this remarkable community together in one place at this present time. And yes this is a community, a digital family. Steve represents the conduit that has connected people from all oceans of society in one unique place.
I am printing this piece so it doesn’t get lost in time.
Such a wonderful description, guess having Lurie write that book may have been premature. I think all of us , and possibly Steve , would rather have had a wordsmith paint the picture than a essay author…which NCA sadly reads like. No worries Robert Lurie, your book is a competent group of pages whereas something extraordinary like this will remain memorable. Maybe many of us should gather and put together our own Bio about Kilbs. Wouldn’t that be constructive and purposeful,
Daz
Wow, Chris– You said that so beautifully. I have ‘looked into’ different faiths, but have never really found one that feels exactly right for me. I have never found comfort in any church/temple…only in the beauty that I experience every day -in my children, in nature, in art (in all of art’s forms). My relationship with God is personal and private and feels true. I come here every day, for the art that Steve creates. I am, at different times, inspired, amused, concerned, entertained, and always, always amazed. It feels weird to say that I feel closer to divine beauty on a blog than in any place of worship, but it is true.
Steve, I don’t want to sound like some goofy fan telling you how great you are. Only that I feel so fortunate to have found your blog a few years ago because it -you- add much to my day. And I enjoy reading the comments as well; It’s like its own community. I loved those songs and videos that you posted in 2009 and have ordered the Garage Sutra CD. I am looking forward to listening. Thank you for all you create.
Welcome Back Lisa K. !!!
It seems like you have been gone for so long , 6 months maybe ???
Hope all is well in health and life …

Hi IP-
Thanks for saying hello! I assure you, I am here every day… I am just a bit shy about commenting.

Yeah, what she said!
Your Friend in Pennsylvania
Chris, So great to have you put into words what a lot of us feel, but don’t have the gift that you so obviously have to do so. That was really beautiful and insightful.
Indeed, Steven. Time knows no limits for days such as these…
last attempt was in 1929 (was what she told me when I was very young – I didn’t really understand her, but her words never left me and I knew they were suppose to be listened to). (she continued: nothing was resolved then either) – why? what wasn’t fixed (I remember asking her). (she continued: “why” had already come and gone over and over and over again for thousands of years and never before was there anyway to avoid the future so [it] was never addressed… and now all is put back into the children’s hearts again who might one day be able to take with them a path forward. she gave me some licorice pastels and she had these amazingly sparkly eyes that were kind/concerned – I was never hesitant/fearful of her/she was lovely… we sat/continued to talk for at least an hour about her garden, her seven sons (they were all grown/some had died) and about her journey from the old country… she’d come over as a young girl in the late 1800s with her mother – some of what she told me went over my head – but I listened anyway and throughout the years – as you learn something new here and there and then here comes that recall: oh yeah… there you are: remembering her/her words/her voice – then a quite giggle to yourself in appreciation for getting to be with her that (one) day as a child.
So the other day I was informed that a house I will be moving into by the end of next month was built in 1929; didn’t know that at the time I decided it was the one, but all the other places I looked at weren’t the one/had too many problems/were too expensive/etc./been looking for months, I almost gave up – then this house just came to me via a call made out of the blue to a new realtor/gave up on the other two I’d been working with… they weren’t listening very well; and so I just called this ad off the internet for a house that I was interested in but he infm’d it was under contract already… pooh! (I lack proper words sometimes) but, he listened and came up with a list of a couple houses to look at – this one was the first and though I looked at the others, this one was it. when I saw it, I knew it was the one meant (without knowing the date coincidence -the “year built” was left off the listing he handed me) – anyway, her words came back to me at the exact moment I entered the property. I decided it was where I was to move to – with her voice so clear and I could feel her smiling at me just as she had done when I was a little girl. …little memory blurbs come up all the time (those millions of them, just waiting for you to have the time to bring them forward with their faces and scents and the glow you felt as you played with them in their worlds)…. I think you remember so they’ll never be forgotten.
When we parted that day/she lived a couple blocks from me; I’d just been wandering around by myself that afternoon; she invited me to come back in three days to have a proper tea with her. I said okay (very excited) and ran off while thanking her for the candy she shared with me. Three days later when I was coming to have tea with my new friend, I stopped a few buildings shy of her house, horrified by a feeling I’d never felt: there were ambulances and police cars – and I stood there frozen watching them wheel a cart with a white sheet over a lumpy form. Didn’t know that was how the authorities took away people who had passed. I sat down on the curb and waited for them to leave and then went to her door and rang the bell. Nobody answered but the door was open just a little, so I pushed it open all the way. There, sitting on a table in front of two chairs was a teapot, cups/saucers with the sugar bowl and creamer all laid out and a pretty plate with those little cookies that look like flowers with a dab of pink jam in the center; and she had a picture of her and I think her husband when she was young sitting on a lamp table next to her couch – she was beautiful/(he was very handsome too). Just then I heard footsteps behind me and (I think it was) her neighbor entered. She asked me what my name was. I told her. She told me that my new friend had been so excited and told her of meeting me and our conversation a few days earlier and that I was coming back to have tea with her that afternoon.
Her name was Lizbeth Maccabee – there was an embroidered lace handkerchief sitting by the teapot with the initials LM swirled in the middle. I was told I could have it if I wished. I still have it.
My home was also built in 1929, a very important year in all many peoples diffinitive history.
Daz
LOVE this. Every single word, 100%. Fabulous.
Learning line producing at school…lol, Russell would prob know more about that stuff, it’s hard, but I love it.
The point is, I am willing to let what I WAS go…
I have NO IDEA what I will BE, but I have trust and faith in everything else…so here we go, jump into the cold water…
Thanks for this one, SK – Brill!!!
Hello Once, at your essence, what you WERE and what you will BE, has absolutely nothing at all to do with your vocation at any given time. It is indeed a spiritual journey. I love your faith and trust and it reminds me of a quote. “Jump and the net will appear” Keep the enthusiasm and give us another dose of poetry real soon love.
Big Tim
Garage Sutra = a Blooming Spring Upbeat Album! Enjoying ALL OF IT Steve! I still love 16th Sept is my first favorite and Changeling too, but all are equally as tasty it’s hard to choose! Thank You for this beautiful album!
Pleasure Steve…it is about you so you own it, not me…..use it however you wish…
David Graham, the guy who’s provided most of Bill Nelson’s artwork for the last 12 years or so, is a major & longstanding Church & Kilbey fan.
wow! interconnectedness! i love my bill…you all know that…
I’m disconnecting absolutely everything when I’m not using Internet.
But then, you never know with Internet wizards…
Have a great day,
Serge.
Steve, when you were in the UK in 1978 did you see any of the Bowie gigs?
no! i saw doctors of madness, japan, dead fingers talk, only ones…..
Accolades for the compelling writing by Chris. As always I want to commend SK for mentioning the truamatized and innocent animals slaughtered in abbatoirs. It’s sinful and unpardonable to massacre our fellow creatures for their dead flesh.
I think it’s time maybe for a new name for the blog: “The Church of Steve”
You have many commenters (worshippers–especially that guy Chris above!), preach the gospel (of rock), accept tithes and offerings (Paypal donations, yearly subscribers), and offer your people an abundance and wealth of advice, truths, music, and now clothing (t-shirts).
Let “The Church of Steve” begin its mighty reign over the unenlightened…
Amen !!!
Ya SK, regret is such an important teacher. I’d hate to think how much worse of a human being I would be today without it.
After many happy listens to Garage Sutra I have been wondering how much intent you put into vocal effects. I have always felt they turned already great songs into extraordinary ones, for example Pantechnicon, A Fire Burns, Song for the Masking, etc., etc.
well with GS i just fiddled about seeing what garage band could do……
Try again please , or read your gmail (and attachment) of a poppin song that you can lay some upbeat lyrics on and call it ur own with an assist by me..
But…honestly…take your next run at GB and square up those chord changes , fills, and tempo adjuments = Garage S Revisted…

Perhaps it is fitting to post here now a link to the song I commissioned from Kilbey/Kennedy 13 months ago (apparently I was the first one) called Transformation:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2WaPZ0HuAY
I gave the first bit of the brief to Martin as follows:
“I’m looking for a mystical type song, a bit in the vain of All is One. Not a rock song as such, not psychedelic either, just a nice melodious song but not beat driven, about awakening spiritually, something spiritually uplifting which will hopefully inspire people to work on themselves spiritually and give them hope. Steve will know what I mean, look at his latest blog”
and when Martin then suggested I come up with the song title which can help prompt the song writing:
“how about “Transformation” as a song title. As in personal transformation, self development, extending oneself, becoming less animal and more spiritual.
An image of a painting comes to mind, I think it might be by Michaelangelo, the one where a man is on the left reclining with his finger limply held out and on the right is I guess God with arm hand and fingers fully stretched out as far as possible trying to reach the man. I’d like a song that inspires that man to make at least a bit more effort and to endure trials and tribulations along the way because life is a school in which we come to learn and take tests and the gaining of peace and wisdom has a cost but the rewards are eternal.”
Martin assured me he knew what I was after and that the topic was right up Steve’s alley, which I knew it was, and I think the lyrics reflect some of sk’s views anyway and are not just fulfilling the commission brief hence I was confident of giving him the task.
And verily they did come up with the goods in spades! Very impressed. And I liked how sk personalised it without any prompting from me, using the signoff I was sometimes using then in my ttb posts, “take care, be aware” and also putting the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra in there (yes, its in Reappearance by Isidore too) from a few meditation sessions he attended with me in 2010.
I requested one or two very minor tweaks to the music and yes I even requested a minor lyric tweak or two, e.g. changing something from past tense to present tense. They are both good sports.
It only took me 12 months to get around to doing the video for it! But here it is ttb-ers, I commissioned it for you, and for my mystic friends and for the whole world really and I think the video goes well with the song. And how about that song!
A question sk, how did you come up with the idea to quote that passage from Revelations 22, did you just randomly open up the bible?
Warm regards
DP
i knew i needed something from revelations david but i didnt know what
but i pretty much stumbled on this little bit as soon as i opened to revelations
i am proud of this song
and i do love your video
sk
Transformation is pure beauty in all of its definitions and
its inner essence.
Thank you David for sharing and being the focus and divinity
behind such a breath taking creation. The triple force of K n K
and David was beyond a ‘commissioned’ song. This song needs
to be spread across the universe, it is that important. It is a song
for hope and be embraced for its power to heal the listeners
spirit. It is much more than a YouTube video, which is quite nice David,
it has to become a factor in peoples lives. How can you/we/everyone -
make this happen ??? It cannot be an afterthought a couple months from
now. Than we all failed this unique and beautiful song, we failed each other.
BTAH
not much divinity in me dazza except for a small spark
plenty of clouds to clear to allow the Sun to shine fully through
“a factor in peoples lives”, yes dazza, that is the hope
the path begins in the physical body being alert to the 5 senses
and to thoughts and feelings simultaneously, simply “awareness”
with the inner death of all negativity, alchemy and helping others. Too much to try explain here…seek & ye shall find…
Thanks for sharing that with us David. The song is a thing of beauty SK and MK, and great job on the video David! Is that you in the last photo? Oh how I’d like to scrape together the cash for a commissioned song. Take care, be aware indeed.
thank you so much David…what a lovely gift!!!
loved the images…the art work (Renaissance, Pre-Raphaelite, The Western Esoteric Tradition book cover etc)
will have another listen…TORArific stuff
yeah, that’s me Anthony, in Queens Park near Bondi Junction, such an amazing sky it was that afternoon and with the pine tree it all fitted well symbolically…
That song is Fucking Awesome! Video too! I have that relation and transmigration to the Transformation!
interesting sk, I thought it might have been something like that. It goes well with the song, I find that quote symbolic of the transformative affects of alchemy/white tantra, which I think is an essential key to awakening. Perhaps a bit of divine intervention guided your mind, hand, fingers and eyes to that passage.
Thanks a lot David for revealing us a new piece of art by K & K.
I went to Rome last month and was eager to enter the Sistine Chapel to see that painting on the ceiling “creation of Adam”.
Unfortunately the Chapel is in complete darkness (to protect the paintings) interrupted every second by flashes of stupid tourists taking bad pictures, followed by a threatening voice shouting “no photo” by Vatican policemen interrupting the necessary silence to appreciate Michelangelo’s beauties.
At that time I wished I was a bird to reach the (high) ceiling and contemplate it alone and free…
Sleep is my favourite thing in the whole world. I never get more than 5 hours, unfortunately, as I’m an utterly idle swine – I force myself to constantly work like a bastard for a minimum 60 hours a week, otherwise I’d just doss around doing nothing. Wouldn’t be so bad but I only get paid for 32 hours…
Jesus, get your own blog. We don’t care. You are so self absorbed it is scary. Get over yourself already. No offense.
tbn
Leave her alone, you bounder, beast and cad!
Forget what I said about renaming the blog above–you should call it “Collette’s Corner.” Rambling comments about nothing related to anything here…
And as if you haven’t self indulged in any direction you chose during one of your rants – remember quite a few of them , but that’s okay right because you self appointed yourself Captain of the ‘hog blog’. Re-read your unkind comment to Col and apologize like an unconditional supportive human being on TTB.

steven, thank you for this — amazing potent stuff, mainline into a big fat antecubital — if i’m reeling from the effect not feeling entirely real and sober, what must you feel as this surges through… which one of the 6+ senses picks up the incoming signal? like those things revealed only to the peripheral vision, or trying to see underwater —- without goggles you can only see the immediate surroundings —- the circle of the immediate life…
…you’re standing in line to get through the security checkpoint and onto the plane — you must surrender you bottle of water… but, sir, it’s double-distilled deionized water, you can’t just get it so easily again… — sorry, you may drink every last drop here if you wish but you can’t take it to the other side…. what he neglects to mention is that you’re allowed to take the bottle with you once it’s empty… yes it’s still a lot of work to fill it once you land again but hey, having a container is a start —- imagine if you didn’t have even that… you did bring the empty container, didn’t you?
interesting analogy my dear!
Crystalline Rush breaks me into a thousand people…so beautiful and un-nerving….almost hurts.. i cant look away …still.
thanks david! i like that song too!
I really don’t know how you type such lengthy entries, and how relaxed they all appear to be. I’ve been feeling very anxious for the better part of a year and I have trouble sitting to read any one person’s paragraph. My mind goes in different directions, my nerves pulled in many directions as well. I could tell you what all these blogs mean to me and what songs of yours I like, but my hands quiver and my mind goes blank when I’m tasked to think of one original thought these days. This is what every day feels like now. So the fact that you can just pull “Garage Sutra” from thin air…
…
…wow.
john. remember! I’m always pin your side!
But uv not shagd boriah yet!
this is getting a bit much here people
Hello Steve, I want to clarify that I never write here using the “anonymous” -or any other- alias but mine (Boriah). Hence I had nothing to do with any of those e-mails.
On the other hand I really like Colette and her contribution to your blog, so I dont want her to leave or get offended. I just want the good humor (sometimes irony) to prevail and far from my intention to harm anyone.
Cheers!
no probs
i know who’s writing what…believe me…!
For Keats, the great poets of the ages were equal to saints, because they brought a reader to the realization that art played an important role as an agent through which a person might glimpse directly into their own soul realizing their own ‘divinity’. Hmmmm…..I hear ‘sk’ being whispered…..
Garage Sutra i am grooving…
takes me back like freaky C
and forward too tunes of the future
ya i can dig…
garage sutra is worthy of the hype in the comments of the last few days
there’s so much to like about it
you’ve always been good at electronic stuff
it’s time to mine that vein
(can you hear a bit of shriekback in ‘matter’?)
thank you
many voices clamour within us
starseed earthbound
stop and listen!
The words made me think, so I did listen & start to hear – the bereft wife with my past all I can see, the corporate creature strong, competitive and thriving on intellectual excitement, the alien child, the one I can’t fimd words for and now I’m starting to remember the girl, Before Him – for so long forgotten, blocked out and almost totally lost.
Your poetry makes me think & reflect deeply for the first time in so many years, a wonderful gift.
Thank you thank you thank you
Apologies for apotheosis of interference but…
Garage Sutra…I knew I had seen those words before,
we have already two in the south-west of France :

They only repair cars
Steve Kilbey’s Garage Sutra will repair your soul !
I think there are a lot of good musical ideas on GS that deserve to be fleshed out in a proper studio. It’s amazing what can be created with just a laptop and a guitar, but of course there are limitations.
there will be no more fleshing out. this is it
I know your time is limited, and do not get upset by this but I totally agree with the other SK. You are on to something here and the beauty is that your really in control with the ability to start and stop by just turning off the comp. If you revisited GB and increase the basic knowledge of chord/tempo change ….you could create another wonderful musical world , inexpensive except the cost of your time, and test it out here amongst this community. I know in my heart that the next incarnation can be even better by all standards than GS….
But I know ur very busy, I always will wish you the best…its just a thought…imagine the response
you may receive after the next completed album…probably 1000% increase. We all enjoy the compilations, and your involvement with other artists…but you are a universe of talent – all by yourself…and many adore that the most…I believe people will agree…I hope they flood this comment section with pleas of a continuation…if they do not, I guess they just say nicely to stroke and please…I’m always wanting more…because your are so gifted and its easier than you think…
I will always remain honest to you, honesty is my only excuse….
Please just consider it…
Daz
daz I’m just too restless to wanna re record old songs
better that than too tired to wanna record new ones
That’s ok, I totally understand . But I was not thinking of old songs, I was thinking of a new beginning. Something wild and inhibited. Something , possibly futuristic. You have the tools and the software…just blow all our minds…go to the boundary and beyond…you have no bandmates, labels, or producers to influence you otherwise…
Just create and go right over the top, don’t revisit or recreate…
Paint a new picture , far out of the universe picture. I didn’t want you to revisit
the past – just the process with a better understanding. I agree with your stand
on leaving what already has been done, alone to become a treasure upon itself…
