      It’s more like a report on an interview than an interview. Strange.

    Enjoyable to see the concert again… you said you would be fiery at your last concert, I wonder if you mean the Factory one or the other one? I thought there seemed to be a bit of fiestiness at first at the Brisbane concert 23/12/11. But that was just an impression, didn’t ruffle the balmy evening or musical appreciation, maybe added to it…Steven Krut, yes I know what you mean. I was going to say something smarty pants about the Illawara post (if that is its correct name) but that would be silly. An interview needn’t necessarily have direct speech. Depends how ‘objective’ the journo wants to make it I suppose. Then how objective are the questions asked in any interview anyway? And how straight are the answers? Unlesss the interviewee is like the Queen and previews the questions…sometimes the reporter might want to put more of their own slant on it. So, anyway, just another perspective expressed in a still ‘free’ country.

    Finally, the definitive Church live performance – 3 albums. The Church doing their best. This needs to come out on DVD. I would pay $100 for this Killa. This shits on the Opera House Gig. Bring this 3 album thing out. $100. Will pay today. Let me know where I can get it. Even better as PK mixed it. This is a great goodbye cruel world for the Church! The last waltz, the last hurrah. The Church at their peak!!! Bring it out for us loyal Church footsoldiers! Peace and love man.

    Dear Steve, listening to your music from on board a yacht in Monaco. Forget about national treasure! You Sir, as well as the the band are deserving of the the highest international accolades. I can’t believe I saw The Church almost 30 yrs ago in Noosa Heads at the Villa Noosa! Crickey, you’ve come a long way since then. I am thinking of starting my own blog…A rumination on Steve Kilbey, a running commentary on a gifted and prolific artist.

    Honestly, the U23 live rendition is amazing. The sound is perfect, your singing is better than ever, the rest of the guys were in top form that night, and even the guy supporting you on keys and guits made a fantastic job. The gig is so brilliant that it could make a perfect official live The Church album. Now you cannot complain about your singing, go an fucking release it no second thoughts. My fav moment is when you pick the guitar to attack “Deadman´s hand” (quite a surprise it´s you on guitar!), stuck to the mic, looking straight to people, fierce look, no bullshit. Release it, give 200 $ to each member, and keep the rest to you.
    Well done!!

    Ah… the concert @ the Botanique – as Marty recalls it – was really a magical one! And when you were standing beside me before this concert, i guess i felt so star-struck i didn’t even notice you…

    Anyway, there’s much more to it all, but it doesn’t serve general appreciation (or how do you express such and such?) me blabbing on this.

    Thank you (all 4 of you) for music & guidance. By the way, how’s Richard these days?

    Luv’, comme toujours, Mr K

    In the interview segment , where Marty speaks on their “best gig ever” and recalls a small club in Belgium where they “levitated” in front of 132 people : That’s a word I’ve been looking for to describe the moment in a Church show where the music starts playing itself and the members appear to be on a different plane and they take the audience there as well.
    Some times where I have witnessed this ( and I’m sure everyone has their own similar experience – I was told by ( prior to this encounter ) non-fan that they’d witnessed this phenomena too at Homebake Syd. Domain tho I was’nt there ) ;
    “Cortez the Killer ” Metro Theatre late 90’s (98? )
    ” Magician among the spirits ” Opera House Studio circa 2003.
    “When you where mine ” Tivoli circa 1986/87 (?)
    “You took ” just about every time it is played.
    I ofeten wondered if there had been a whole show like this… it seems there was.
