so tangled tonight
such a fair light
its so still
my heart drags
the stars
the clouds
all the usuals
this is hurting a bit
i sang today
yeah i stood there singing
where was i?
far far away
singing this about that
i sang some song
same song
about pursuit
theres me in my mansuit singing pursuit
the drums go boom
the guitar go clang
the bass go throb throb throb
some people clap
i sing some more
i stand there singing more to the grapes n trees
i stand there looking out at it all
i sing some more
they clap some more
i walk off
clap clap
i smoke some dope
i talk some talk
i eat some dinner
i hit the road
thats it

Never forget there are so many of us out here supporting you, thinking of you and gratefully enjoying everything that you work so hard to produce.
    Thank-you.

We were too far away to be seen by you, at Bimbadgen. I hope you could hear us cheering! But, we sure saw you in utter brilliance, onstage and on the big screens – a fantastic performance Steve! Stolen Property was THE shining light of them all, loved it, loved you putting your all into those songs. Way too short a setlist but for us it was such a treat just to be there. The maddening heat kept the front-seaters away at the start i guess but it was worth melting in the sun to be in the presence of such consummate performers.

    xox
ps and what about Leonard Cohen? wow, i cant describe what a treat that was.

Things are not as bad as they seem.
    They are worse than that.
They are also better than that.

    been there, got the tee…
it’s just the way of things.
without our irrationality, where would we be?
    a safe place?
would you want it if you found it?

    hey, if love equals balm……
you got more than enough to cover those scrapes eh?

    can’t help, can only care.

    the best to you all
(in particular luck to a little guy called davis who’s been dealt a really crap deck),
    luv,
    andy L.

    Oh Steve,

I think about your fat little fingers now and then.
I admire the fact that you have accepted your lot, and no longer crave center stage.
You have come to, and of age.
    A genuine Time Being.

The opening spot when you are performing during bright daylight just doesn’t seem conducive to creating transcendence.

Please remember that what you create is very special, even if you don’t always feel it.

hang in there as best you can, sk! its hard when you feel detached, but maybe you really do need a break, as HH mentioned.

thank you for all you are, & the music, its been real therapy for alot of fiends, (and me as i drift in and out of the doldrums)

    luv

You always give it your best SK. You’re a great writer, blogger, lyricist, vocalist, bass player, vegan, environmentalist and father. You’re as talented as Ray Davies, George Harrison and Michael Stipe. The Church has five albums that are as good as Radioheads best albums. Lamentably, you’re talent has been overloooked or not even exposed to many commercial entities. Your loss is their loss.

I’ve decided to write a letter to the editors of the following music magazines, Uncut, Mojo, Record Collector, and Rolling Stone, and ask them all to please do a long, thorough and informative (not to mention long overdue) article on The Church now that they have a new album coming out. Naive? Yes. But I’m gonna do it, anyway.

Not only the grapes and the trees felt your song, because on the wind I’m sure I heard you. And right now in these words I can feel your grief,it’s seems to be mixed with loss, aloneness and regret.

For your sake I hope you can remedy it and begin to appreciate your time here right now. I wish for you the courage to be the man that you are. I pray for you healing.

May you find the love and peace you deserve, always.

We were captured by your performance the night before. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the gig at Centennial; would loved to have been there to experience it all again – even with the wrenching heat. And I would loved to have filmed Bimbadgen just for you to look back on and see that you have nothing to be down about, it was a very powerful performance. Cohen fans got a mighty fine entree. Perth, the Triffids homeland, will be dynamite.
