my rush into the stratosphere has been curtailed
at the moment im back to 79
the being who fell back to earth
down down down
it was a long way down
i fell screaming n falling
out of those charts
like a doomed comet
like icarus, suddenly wingless
like a stone
the feller was felled
full of fall
fatal flaw
twisting in the air
over n over
down down n round
screaming burning crashing
dashed my # 1 dreams
smashed my ambitions
held down
point me at the sky
im gonna have ta fly again
i guess its gonna take more than a cuppla old photos
to launch me back up there where the air is rare
to get me back over the moon
back to the drawing board

You know being at the top of the charts isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Tour coming up soon. That’s bound to boost the old ratings.

    aww… poor Killa. 🙁

I’ve noticed your readership always falls off on weekends. Must have a lot of people who only have access at work. And looking your readership trend over the past year it’s clear what will boost you back to the upper realms of blog readership — a US tour, baby. You know we love you here, so c’mon. You give us a good tour; we’ll give you a good blog ranking.

nah, it’s more like nobody is at work… you’re dismantling the system from within, leading the sheep astray… that’s your 9-5 gig,
    the unherder….. chin up!!!

I agree with davem and eek – once the euro tour starts the ratings will climb and climb and climb… Combine photos w/ the tour, maybe the odd voice blog, anchored by the usual sublime prose, and i think we have a chart topper… 😉

Someone once told me that it was all about quality rather than quantity, but I suspect that this adage is not always true !

SK…you might not have the #1 bogge at the mo, but this gig is definitely about latent potential and you have that in spades.

    cheers Symon

ps…keep ya chin up. I’ll ask my mate Anthony (big Heyday fan) to drop in and have a look around…one step closer to #1.

There is a lot of things going on over at TB HQ.. If you were away for a few days you’d think that sk had invested seriously in the format..or a sponsor had advanced some funds..

Perhaps I could talk to gilberts organic grape juices in Wellington to part sponsor the Bloggy??

ps I went to the same high school as Tim Poles.. He was in my step fathers house (frat..4 the yanks)
Now that was really bully high.. 2000 boy’s and only a sporting chance to survive..If you were not.., , arty, in-touch, musical, gay, non-academic…etc

Wonder if he played percussion in the school band, as I later did in 89.

I had a band called Mental notes.. after a Split Enz album… ever heard that one .. Wow.

    c yuz all m.

More coffee to shake off the autumnal rust…when you finally reach numero uno, we’ll join cyber hands, or paws, or ‘ooves and cry tears of sublime joy…Dee somewhere in Austin…dang i’m sleepy..its the purple cush…Sk, your bloggy today reminds me of a ‘big’ dream i once had, about a rocket headed for the upper atmosphere. Only to fall back to earth from a lack of propulsion and momentum. And then the Fire from the crash..spreading i try to gather my belongings( a stack of records) and head North…across diverse landscapes…and climes, to the land of the Giants- eventually..but for now a wasteland, a withering tree, and a charging Rhino…i broke off a piece of bread or cake ( from the feast) to appease him…i don’t think it ever worked… …classic, huh?

    It’s quantum physics baybee…

The supposedly “objective” instrument of observation becomes an active agent influencing the outcome.

I know people who started blogs hoping to tell of their lives in an honest way… but in the end they’re inexorably sucked into living their lives FOR the blog and doing increasingly sensationalist things (crowd-pleasing stunts, sex with strangers etc) for no other reason than to please their “virtual” audience.

Hey, the history books are gonna record that it’s the flavour of our age.

Thanks Mr Warhol for that quote…

What the hell – time to post another one and get branded as a nay-sayer…

I think I agree with yesterday’s comments by B.Bon and Tim from Sellersville.

    Hmmm…guess you know what you’re doing but…
you might want to have a little re-think about posting photos of your teenage daughters (even if they gave permission).

As a former social worker, I can tell you that every society has “another side” to it that most people know little or even nothing about.

That is to say, even in “well-adjusted” Sweden I’m sure not everyone is a “stable, well-adjusted” individual.
Then, add in the anonymity afforded by the web and you have a very interesting mix indeed.
Put plainly, there are people out there you would NOT, NOT, NOT want looking at pictures of your young daughters.

Sorry to rain on your parade but I just wanted to remind you of something you know so well. ie :
    Fame is a double-edged sword.

I thought about this one hard. Much as I love the photo of you and your eldest pair on the sofa (thanks for the rare glimpse – you done some good work there helping to bring into existence creatures that radiate such obvious intelligence and light), I think your safety might be compromised. Meaning the saftety not just of you – I know you can take care of yourself. But of the Kilbey brood in general.

So many crazies out there, sir. SO very many. I myself have been stalked after a fashion more than once, so I know a little of what I speak.

And we don’t give a sod’s fig for yer goddam ratings.
