the evening is indeed beautiful

but fleeting as night follows as close as this…..

a distant storm rumbles somewhere out there

the old windows in this house rattle in their frames

the trees all  in flower  shake and swoop in the freshening winds

summer came and i hardly even noticed it

I’ve had times like that. Look around one day and think “wow, when did it get to be summer (or whatever season it is at the time)? What the hell happened to spring?”

At least missing whole seasons, years, or even decades at a time makes life go by quicker, so there is an upside. 😉

    for many years
    my partner has been debilitated
by an awful cocktail of half-diagnosed ailments
    it’s been wretched for her
and for the rest of us
I don’t deal with it as well as I should
I often feel more sick of it than sympathetic
I sometimes daydream about other ‘possibilities’
before quickly remembering the countless reasons they can never happen
and asking myself (almost rhetorically) ‘what the fuck am I going to do’?
    .
I spend so much time and energy being worried and sad
that it’s easy to overlook the one thing I really must do
    – everything I can to help her

GOSH!That could be me you’re writing about!Maybe it is?
I’ve had enough of debilitation too….there is no possibility of escape for me…..doctors mostly useless.Natural healing expensive.Where does it end? Will it end? Will I continue to deteriorate? The only real help I have is my self.Thank goodness for the internet and the library.Slowly, slowly I have begun to understand what is going on.Us females are built more complex,so more to go wrong,ha!Hope this year’s a better one than last.A terrible start for me,so hopefully can only get better….
Oh how I wish I had the support I needed, life would be a much more pleasant experience for me and those around.Would indeed be a better place for all.
      One plus one equals two!
      One against one leaves nothing!!!!!

    teleporter malfunction
i begin to materialize alongside myself
one pattern as two, unable to lock on
    twin image silhouette, half, incomplete
caught in the time being, spatial anomaly
    look upon this aging flesh
indigenous particles in simultaneous buffering patterns
it’s me, alright, no one else
    what do i really see
regret, happiness, suffering, fear, love, and misery
    minutes, hours, days, decades
wrinkles, scars, grey hair, a mortal symphony
the culmination of my life’s history
    will i become one again
or destined to walk as a phantom beside me
let me have another summer on the beach
    beautiful friends and family
    frivolity
    i see

So what can I tell you?
life’s the length of this play
    Who gave out the answers?
To those with nothing to say

These years have not been forgiving
    grasping for theater, clinging
holding on till the bitter end

This new found rain beckons forth
for tears that I surely shall bleed

    Trapped with unfinished dreams
    inspiration?
    locked in on tightly
    to a world gone astray
as they have changed me for years
    leave me stranded alone
    in the spotlight
    fading away.

    AsAlways,
    Darrin K.

    SK-

FYI music fans…the password for the pre-sale, that begins tomorrow, for the DISPATCH tour across America is “wimpy” (which happens to be the nickname of their van that used to go from gig to gig and sleep in while on the road in the late 90’s). To locate tix…go to their site http://www.dispatchmusic.com.

They are a great independent American band with dedication to raising money for education and children around the world.

    one fine day…

    one fine day…

I envy you your beautiful evening SK! I think I missed my calling somewhere along the line, or else I was a storm chaser in a previous existence. Bring it on it cleans the earth and cleanses the soul when you are at one with nature.

    Steve,

Winter here in Detroit, you will see it soon, hopefully you do not have any rough weather during the tour. No doubt you have been very busy the last several months so summer has blown by. Chicago show is less than a month away and I cant hardly wait. My birthday is the 22nd of Jan. My gift to myself is The Church show in Chicago, so I look forward to seeing you and the band playing three classic albums. Starfish is where it all began for me, Priest criminally overlooked masterpiece and Untitled #23 is an amazing album that keeps surprising me everytime I listen to it. Hope all is well, rest and enjoy what summer you have left.

    See you soon,

    PS

Darrin thanks for the info on the booths for Park West venue, I reserved mine a few weeks ago. See you at the show, I would prefer to get at the stage but my wife is so short if we are not at the front she cant see anything the rest of the night, so thanks again it will make my night more enjoyable if she is happy. She used to be a U2 fan until I dragged her to the last 3 Church shows and now she would not miss this for the world.

    Jason

      Jason-
From anywhere in this venue you will feel like you are right up front at the stage. As the clock ticks closer to 02/11/2011, we should set-up a way to locate and say hi to each other.

      AsAlways,
      Darrin K.

    Here some chatter from a BBS today about the Cruch;

I saw you list The Church & thought it was a cool choice. I think “Reptile” is an absolutely brilliant song & one of my all time favorites of that era…makes me want to buy a Rickenbocker. I’d agree that they are underated

Yes, sure remember that tune- most call them a 1-hit wonder, they’re obviously ignorant. There are only a certain number of groups that can reach all-time, legendary status. And most deserve it. But there are a lot of groups whose music is just as good if not better than the legends. The Church is one of those groups.

ARRRGGGH, just look at my #1 choice, they are the best band of the last 30 years, yeah for a sec in the 90’s it got really shakey but for my vote they are it. And don’t think of them as an 80’s band because let me tell you, most of their 90’s and all of their 00’s output is even better than that 80’s stuff. And don’t just listen to the lp’s, live they are just amazing. The band that made me want to start playing my own music. Going to NYC in Feb. to see them do 3 lp’s, start to finish! And f-it, here is a live show I taped in Denver June 18 2009

That last bit was from me.

Holding on in Houston, Ron Bonham

    Hi Steve,
An old lady came up to me today and said, ‘I have no questions for you, and I have no answers.’ How, very, very Zen I thought.
All the best for the tour. I am sure it will be just what the doctor ordered.
    Love,
