More anticipation! ‘At least it’s holding us together’ … so glad I never got a perm and my hair was naturally anti product in the 80s. I spent a lot of time trying to have it like Marianne Faithful’s, except darker. Look forward to this!

Dancing Barefoot from Manchester on that tour was the best you ever did it. Glorious.

Hot Damn! About Time! Cannot Wait! This will be Awesome! Is it on Bluray or just DVD, probably just DVD? Doesn’t matter either way. Just Askin’…Thanks So Much Steve! Any discount for SKP’ers? Too many questions not enough answers, nonetheless this is great to see this made available! Kind of like an autobiography & hindsight of some sorts, looking forward to seeing the litte old lady who adorned the Jack Frost cover.

(not bad looking guys either) still look good today.

This will be brilliant. I remember you trying to release this through NSEW many years ago. Think you got caught up in copyright issues, so sent out Gilt Trip instead? Think that’s what happened, but my memory isn’t the best. Wonderful news that we’ll all finally get to share it!!
I’m loving KK3 but I do really miss the band.
    Thank-you Steve.

We were all once beautiful…some more than others. Count me in for the video…I maxed out on swag on your last US tour. I would love video/audio from the prior “unplugged” tour

I am so looking forward to this release.
And I (seriously) have always thought that the little old lady from Jack Frost was Steve in disguise.

been listening a lot to the new KK thing

    this is quality stuff

and I think what makes it work is that the process by which it is made is so positively competitive

from what I know of the process, it involved toing and froing of music and vocals

and the product is the sort of thing that is produced by two people driven by the respect they have for each other’s talents

I know you are proud of it
    and you should be

Andy is erudite as usual. I’ve been on a Church binge for the last few days. The greatest band ever. Way superior to Queen, U2, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, Smiths, Cure, Fleetwood Mac, Radiodead, Oasis, Silverchair, Who, Tull, Zeppelin, Cream and Arcade Fire. In 1990 the Church was very good. In 1997 they became nonpareil and remain so.

Obviously this does not include the Beatles. There were not a band ! They had three of the most talented men in the history of music competing for who writes better songs.

it is impossible to compete with the beatles, i concur! we will remain the second best then!

The Beatles provided the sun in my life (some are dead and some are living…).
The Church provided the cool breeze on my face.

Sorry to put here an extract from the book of a fan (me):
1990 means a new Church album, though I know it won’t be as great as Starfish. The french paper Les Inrockuptibles reviews it in may with a warning from Steve Kilbey himself : “I think we are going to make a bit of rock this time”.
My Gold Afternoon Fix record in pocket, I come back home. Unfortunately, my cd player had been on while thunder struck my house a few days ago, and it doesn’t want to play cds anymore. I have to wait a few more days until one of my friends makes a tape copy of it. I look intensively at the cover meanwhile…It’s great to see a new Steve Kilbey with a musketeer’s moustache (I come from D’artagnan’s homeland Gascony). He looks younger than on the Starfish cover !
I immediately fall in love with GAF. It is not Starfish (Greg Ladanyi has disappeared from the production credits, so I already know it is less “west coast” than Starfish), but I really enjoy it. Except for the end of Essence, that deserved a more “Reptile” way of disappear. Well, GAF is not Starfish. That’s OK for me.
May 12th, 1990. Tonight my heroes are playing in France. GAF french tour is only rich of two gigs : Paris (500 miles from Toulouse) and Grenoble (450 miles from Toulouse). I am looking at my old car. It definitely can’t go on more than 200 miles without something wrong happening. And I have no money. I am feeling miserable. That day is one of the greatest disappointments in my life (ah ! di-sa-point-ment…).

    Yes please !
    I’m in.
I’m just wondering if us luddites will be able to lumber into our olde bricks’n’mortar record store ( like Redeye Records in Sydney ) and purchase a hard copy which we can then take home ( on the bus ) and with our lumpen fingers , press said disc into our ancient , out-moded DVD-player thingys (?)
