mystery tramp

the moon king is coming in shadow of shame

tethered his horse to a star

the milky white monster rushed through the sky

and the thought of light is faster than light

and the knight of nights is a single black cat

who crosses your path as you move on through time

while the party tricks and the parlour games

have all become a burden to me

the line that defines us is just like yon river

it wanders oh baby the way that it flows

my head is an instrument needing restringing

my heart is an ache that wakes up my head

in the middle of dreams

in the cold light of green

the way that the water whirls in a pool

the masquers arrive in a swarm of intrigue

and the moon king comes

riding an earth

“my heart is an ache that wakes up my head”-

I like that line a lot. Thanks for composing it.

What is it about the moon that makes everything seem so magical? The moon king – so much more interesting than an ordinary king.

she survived global destruction once again
deep mother earth in the recess of space
how many times will you suffer the lashings
and the pain that rips you apart from the inside
the other gods watch and anoint thee
    floating in their elliptical orbits
flaming, gas, cold rocks spanning the universe
wondering to themselves how they ended up
void of life and the grandeur as we know it
while she continues to endure despite
false prophets calling out her name
    and predicting global catastrophe
for once upon a time they, too, shined
beautiful orbs so majestic and heavenly
full of dreams and living poetry
celestial watercolors on a black canvas
their inhabitants were of the babylonian order
    purveyors of perfection, mankind’s majesty
until they forgot the beauty of their worlds and worshipped themselves
while pride sealed their destruction in famine and flood
will the same fate be upon this place
an earth so beautiful yet repulsive
    guardian moon king protect her
    extend the evening tide longer

The Moon King forever in search of my very own. But like all magical beings when I think I’ve found him he’s gone

The sun queen is coming in a blaze of disgrace
Though she herself is a star
With a nod to the enemy and a tactic embrace
    Rendering tender souls from afar
She’s vicious and hungry she’s sparkling and mad
Heat of vengeance heat of love intermingled
And my head’s been wounded, bleeding and sad…

Pink froth floats in a tide pool while green sea plants wave
Softly and sultry brain matter scattered
Crabs click round rocks where barnacles cling
Sharp sea floor with beasts who sting
And I watch tiny particles from whence I came and shall be
They’re swimming in light and I let the salt in
My tears burn me deep and all the way through
And my skull breaks the surface pieced together anew

The sun queen rides high on the breath of the displaced
    She’s feeling the agony
And burning more fiercely watch gold melt with grace
No one here is a tragedy
She sees you and penetrates with capillary spark
Am I awake? How can I be?
There’s a pinpoint light of sight in the dark…

    steve,
    in my mind’s eye,
the moon king is a monologue delivered by you over a churchy spacy jammy
    twisty morphy thingy…..
    and it sounds damned good.
