Wow! Great song! Love the guitars and the vox! It's still too early in the morning, but I'm going to play this with the volume set at 11 later today.

Was wandering around Bronte cemetery today with my Mum. A very beautiful Autumn day now ends with a mystical sprinkling of stardust.

Bloody hell, man! This is magnificent! Church finally churched!
This is what I expect when I put on a new Church release. Must say I`ve been slightly disappointed of late, but this! Soaring, exhilarating dream time music accompanied by great visual images. Beautiful! My faith is restored!! I`m down on my knees….
Where can I get this song, please?

un-fucking-believable – if this is the sound of the next album then ta-ta to all the rest of the so-called contemporary bands – this sound is the sum and more of all that has gone before – get this (very excellent) acoustic thing out of the way and get this sound down – more please!

Lurie's book, which I like (though I get the sense he isn't quite prepared as some to forgive you your sins) concludes that you, and your band, could perhaps do with some editorial input.

    well

with all the authority commanded by someone who absolutely swears he doesn't own anything by Janis Ian

can I just say that Stardust is a FUCKING GOOD song

Lurie also says that you're not often one to revisit songs once they're done

But mate, parts of that song are spectacular

and it wouldn't take much to bring the rest of it up to the same level

just a bit more time on the easel

there might even be two great songs in there

is this one of the songs you and tim finished off a month or so ago?

you seemed pretty up about it on your blog

    I can see why

that song was amazing !!!! please release that asap on itunes so all us church goers have that song to play over and over. marty and peter were spellbinding !!!! how can u continue to create music of such perfection as the industry doles out garbage after garbage …week after week. please please please – let us all be able to experience that song outside of ur blog. and ur self-created video was trippy to say the least.

have a great show tonight and keep enjoying ur self. u appear so enthusiastic and full of spirit- i love it !!!

cd single at ur merch table containing stardust would be one step closer to heaven. just a thought.

What an awesome vision for Good Friday, but it this is a rehearsal; I sure am gutted that I cannot be at any of the gigs!

Yesterday, I commented that I was envious of Dan having you rehearse in him home, but having just watched this one Iā€™m just as green with envy of you fellas. (Nice place you got there Dan!)

Musically, the Church learned long ago how to use musical effects without sounding like they were using them as a crutch. Unfortunately, the videos you post employ a little too much in the way of visual effects. Just because iMovie can do it, doesn't mean it's a good idea. Try some old-fashioned effects, like Vaseline on the lens, or using a single light source (like a window; think the cover of With the Beatles). Make a movie that amazes people when you tell 'em that you made it with a laptop's built-in camera and iMovie.

    Badlands rock!

Tim's drumming is sounding more fine-tuned each recording. There's a finite cohesiveness in this song that I think others have alluded to being missing of late.

    C U in Mpls!

    STARDUST

    Now I'm in my beyond
I heard you're not so overfond
It all depends how you respond to me, babe

Now I'm in that distant hill
No summer to disturb the chill
You should bring another kill to me, babe

I got moonshine, I got lead
I got a tombstone at my head
Got a mountain for my bed & me, babe

I got flowers in the dark
I can hear the hellhounds hark
Listen can you hear 'em bark at me, babe?

All the stardust hanging in the sky
    All within it
All the siren's gin running dry
    in just a minute

All the stardust hanging in the sky
    All within it
All the siren's gin is running dry
    in just a minute

    just a minute…

    it's all within it…

    so let's begin…

    yeah, let's begin…

    just a minute…

    just a minute…

Now I'm in the great white sky
    where the winter never die
tell me are you coming by to me babe

I got daisies for my chain
say you bring me back again
tell that you feel no pain for me babe

When you kneel to cry me tear
when you go away from here
all the angels doth appear to me, babe

I got night and I got cold
I got dead, I got old
these are the things you told to me, babe
