Oh wow, sk behind the wheel, sk on the beach, sk in his kitchen, I can’t get enough!! Yeah, words are great, but I’m loving the visuals too, so a combo would be just perfect!
What a beautiful beach, you’re so lucky sk, the closest beach to me is St Kilda and you know too well how stinky that place is.

Steve, Nice pix. Looks like a beautiful day at the beach. Love the water. In fact, I’m heading to Cape May, NJ next weekend for a few days. Take in the salt breezes and sand.

And as for words, that’s what drew me in first. But, the pix are another revealing aspect I enjoy very much.

wheeeee~~who’s that tanned cutie behind the wheel there? and in the reflection?? and the shadow??? hubba hubba. 🙂 🙂 🙂

lovely beach….i love how the tunnel draws you toward the light at the end, and to emerge onto such lovely scenery. i can almost smell the fresh sea air and feel the gentle breeze now. it’s beginning to get really HOT up here in north texas.

what an adorable little car!! funny how you titled that one “the beast”, heh heh heh. but i can’t get past the steering wheel being on the wrong side. just looks strange to me, like being inside a mirror. 🙂 i got new wheels myself this past weekend. i took pix earlier today and was going to post them on my blog but the battery in my camera died and i couldn’t transfer them. **awww** your little blue car reminds me of mine that just got smashed up~~they just towed it away today. it was a silver hatchback. i’m going to miss that one. **sniffle**

yes, we ARE spoiled. but we don’t mind!! of course, words are great, but this is a refreshing new twist. thanks for taking us on a tour of your stomping grounds. 🙂

oh~~i got the results of my MRI. everything seems to be ok. nothing unusual for except the remnants of the skull fracture from 16 years ago. my headaches have dimmed, but they are still there unfortunately.

    lotza love……

here’s a suggestion for your, uh, “beast”: i noticed you have a little sag in your headliner there. i had a car once with the same problem, and i solved it by pushing brass thumbtacks into it. i had the tacks outlining the constellation of Aquarius.

How to Be a Real Bricklayer
    – You got yourself an older model gas-guzzling Ford (excellent)
    – You added seat covers (well done)
    – You wear Blunnies (not bad)
    – Ray-Bans at all times (yes)
    – Tanned and rugged (that works)

But…if you wanna go the whole hog (so to speak) you’ll need to follow these simple steps:

    – Trade in the station-wagon for a ute
    – Add alloy mags
    – Install a sub-woofer to play Chisel or Hunters ‘n Collectors (rather than Earthed or Remindlessness)
    – Add bumper stickers galore (eg. “I Fish’n I Vote”, “Triple M Rocks Steve Kilbey”, or “Toot if ya Want me to take my top off !”
    – Start wearing VB or Jack Daniels apparel
    – Make sure you are seen at the Canberra Summer Nats in January (Be there, or be civilised !)
    – Never drive using two hands on the wheel
    – Attach several mobile phones to your King Gee shorts or belt
    – For heaven’s sake stop the namby-pamby chee-goong business.

    That should about do it.
Boy…the chics are gonna love ya !

When I see such wondrous photos of nature it compels me to do all I can to protect terrestrial and marine ecosystems from drillers, miners, loggers, marauders and corporate greed-heads that want to decimate them for profit. In America, the State of Florida has been ravaged by residential and commercial development and ruthleess industries that only care about human vainglory.

oooh! I am so thrilled to hear this!

ouch! at the car repair bill. At least it’s running well now — my brother is in the midst of “the car repair from Hell.” It’s been at the shop for months — yep, months — now and there’s still no firm date on when it will be finished. I keep thinking “hmm, I won’t ask any of his friends to recommend a repair shop to me.” And it makes me even more grateful for my trusty ratty little gerbil car — it’s ugly as all hell, but it’s fine for the relatively light driving I’m doing now. 🙂

Incredible coast, man. That’s got me planning my next expedition. Seriously. What a beautiful place you live in.

Digging the shaggin wagon. What you need inside is carpet. Wall to wall, ceiling to floor. And some dice. Big ones that dangle from the mirror and interfere with safe operation of the vehicle. Don’t listen to the detractors. You’re Steve Fucking Kilbey. You define cool.

Who’s the sexy dude driving? 😉 You truly do live in a stunning place. I am only 30 minutes from the beach and yet I never go. I went to university literally across the street from the beach in Malibu and after the first semester stopped going. Except for drunken parties at night of course. I’ve got to get out more…only 2 more weeks and I’m free from my studies. Talk about your drunken parties…

steve , caught the european tour twice and thought the shows were excellent. I have a few suggestions as to improving the business end of touring. First , the tickets were actually too cheap, only 12.5 euros in utrecht. Second you might consider touring without an opening act. The band could possiby play 2 sets of about one hour each with an intermission, giving people a chance to buy cds , t shirts etc. Hope you decide to do a us tour in 07 or 08. hang in there Elliott

You dont think the nicer comments are justified? Just curious too. More seriously, Steve… I saw the JTV special on Go Betweens tribute concert on Sat night. It was really great and emotionally powerful.

There are parts of your blog writing that really resonate and especially, to my mind, the writings on Grant’s passing a whole year ago. You knew and convey the man’s emotional depth and his secret pain, but also his open, giving and loving ways.

I’m going to re-read May, o6. So many of your words are staying with me

I can’t read the bumper stick on the left side of the back. What does it say?

    So THAT’s the Falcon!

I was thinking the old 1960s type like we used to have, since as far as I know there isn’t a new ‘Falcon’ model here in America.

As a note, be careful posting pics with your license plate # in them. I have seen people’s personal info & address looked up via someone’s plate number after a picture of their car was posted online.
