It must be in the air or is it just that time of year. I too feel tired, drained, sapped and simply ‘blah’. Iam missing you already. Take it easy.

    hey killa,

just back from milano and caught up on 2 weeks worth of blogge in an afternoon. that was quite the hit. the ole brain is reeling.

especially liked the sadly rendered scene where noble tibor was laid to rest.

and i’d like to add my vote for the Frost DVD. Now that’s something you really could sell (as opposed to the boy band thing).

enjoy the down time, being, and all the best to the fambly during the holly-daze.

Hmm… looking at the column to the right, I see that Killer blogged 341 days so far this year. We are on the 350th day — so even with gigs and TV engagements, he’s only missed 9 days.

In 2007 it says he got 355 days in. 339 in 2006.

So I could say one of two things.

1.) He’s done this quite a bit and deserves as much time off from it as he wants. This is especially obvious considering some of the unwarranted and downright cruel abuse that gets heaped on the old man on this site. He’s always been available and polite (much more so than his peers, I’d say) to anyone who isn’t being needlessly provocative. Have a rest and recharge them batt’ries, Killer!

2.) No matter how busy he’s been, he’s somehow always made time for this blog; and if he’s stepping away now, something must be seriously wrong. This is especially obvious considering some of the very bleak and financially desperate-sounding blogs he’s written of late. I worry for the guy.

So I’m crossing me ole fingers and trying to think more about #1.

Have a good rest, Killer. You deserve it.

There is only one Steve Kilbey.
Whatever you do with your time I hope it’s enriching and enjoyable. TTB is a privilege and not something I’d ever expect or take for granted.
After the family, you’re the greatest thing in my life and your presence permeates my every day, TTB or no TTB. God bless you SK.
    Love always,
PS love to Ricky and all the best for the 22nd.

Steve, I think you deserve as much time off as you want! Like the other kind and thoughtful “commenters”, I too hope nothing serious is wrong and that you just need a breather from pounding away on the keyboard.

Have a relaxing break my dear –

Hey K.P. Buk, put the thesaurus down and go for a walk. Your post is supposed to be a compliment but frankly it is ridiculous, absurd, antic, bizarre, comical, contemptible, derisory, droll, foolheaded, foolish, gelastic, goofy, grotesque, incredible, laughable, ludicrous….etc

    Is being creative a feeling?
An emotional state? Like happy, sad?

Where I come from it is 10% idea 90% hard work. No one sees the 90% until it’s time to take a break.

Maybe you self-confessed fanatics of Kilbey should give the boy a break for Christmas, he is not Jesus Christ.

And with all due respects to Kilby, JC is the western world’s guru of creativity, especially at Christmas and Easter when everyone else’s creativity pales in comparison.

Forgiveness was one of JC’s concepts, very creative I’d say. You Kilbey junkies can add to the list over Christmas and give it to your master when he returns to beat himself while on his search for that creative feeling.

    captain mission | 18 December 2008 at 12:16 am #

let’s take forgiveness further, it’s a very western concept like guilt i guess, there’s more than one way to paint a cat.

    non attachment
    seems to be a key
    to a door
    that once opened
    can’t close
    despite the minds habits
    and conditioning
    non attachment
    is letting go
    of the cosmic dance
    the need to win
    the need to be right
    the need to own
    and the need to dominate
the need to control the need to desire
the desire to need the need to control
even the thoughts and actions of the mind itself
and what’s left when non attachment is taken to it’s limit?
    the end of fear.

“Maybe you self-confessed fanatics of Kilbey need to give the boy a break for Christmas, he is not Jesus Christ.”

Anonymous, you’re a genius. Go re-read the comments – that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re “fanatically” telling Kilbey to take a break for Christmas.

The level of stupidity of these chicken-shit anonymous morons is unbelievable.

And with that, Happy Christmas and Happy Hannukah (sp?) and Happy Kwanza and enjoy the Winter/Summer Solstice wherever you are…

Give a rest people, our man is taking some time off. Leave him the fuck alone. he is a human being and is tired of being human. I’m off to give the old chap a few hundred bucks cause I can neve repay the way his words hit me at the right time.. Mehhh

Yeah, TTB is the milky bar kid.
Declared vacant, terra nullius, and we’re waiting for Charlie Darwin and his Beagle to provide a report. Hoping they see kangaroos.

Watch out for the dumb questions too. The oh so classy Queens of Kilbey (Barbie Bandits!) can’t believe our ‘chicken shit stupidity’.

Don’t go doing their heads in anons while Captain Kilbey’s off the boat! They’re self confessed fanatics, beware, ha ha.

How about an abbreviated poem from Australia 1991.

I saw balloons lift into the sky
    I thought I might fly
    I felt like a child
    On a magick carpet ride

Time tics on it never stops
    No arguing with the clock
Our feet planted to the ground
    like rock
    Balloons disappear

I saw the seed go into the ground
I never thought to wait around
a flower grew simple coloured round
    it’s perfume filled the land

    seasons come and seasons go
the sun in summer winter snow
    before we know it
    we change
    and grow
    like blossoms passed
    at our feet

    Dear Sweet Steven

You last took a holiday from this blog in September so you are long overdue for another one. Nothing lasts for ever and if you were to stop writing it now we would still be grateful for the insight into your life and artistry it has given.

best wishes to you and yours
