not feeling that creativegonna have a few days offsee you soonkilbey
It must be in the air or is it just that time of year. I too feel tired, drained, sapped and simply ‘blah’. Iam missing you already. Take it easy.D
Does this mean we don’t have to donate?
Rest and relax, good sirrah.
just back from milano and caught up on 2 weeks worth of blogge in an afternoon. that was quite the hit. the ole brain is reeling.
especially liked the sadly rendered scene where noble tibor was laid to rest.
and i’d like to add my vote for the Frost DVD. Now that’s something you really could sell (as opposed to the boy band thing).
enjoy the down time, being, and all the best to the fambly during the holly-daze.
Hmm… looking at the column to the right, I see that Killer blogged 341 days so far this year. We are on the 350th day — so even with gigs and TV engagements, he’s only missed 9 days.
In 2007 it says he got 355 days in. 339 in 2006.
So I could say one of two things.
1.) He’s done this quite a bit and deserves as much time off from it as he wants. This is especially obvious considering some of the unwarranted and downright cruel abuse that gets heaped on the old man on this site. He’s always been available and polite (much more so than his peers, I’d say) to anyone who isn’t being needlessly provocative. Have a rest and recharge them batt’ries, Killer!
2.) No matter how busy he’s been, he’s somehow always made time for this blog; and if he’s stepping away now, something must be seriously wrong. This is especially obvious considering some of the very bleak and financially desperate-sounding blogs he’s written of late. I worry for the guy.
So I’m crossing me ole fingers and trying to think more about #1.
Have a good rest, Killer. You deserve it.
There is only one Steve Kilbey.Whatever you do with your time I hope it’s enriching and enjoyable. TTB is a privilege and not something I’d ever expect or take for granted. After the family, you’re the greatest thing in my life and your presence permeates my every day, TTB or no TTB. God bless you SK.Love always,xxPS love to Ricky and all the best for the 22nd.
Mr. Blow hard ran out of steam, can I send you some kobe beef ?
I bet he’ll be back tomorrow. That is how creativity works. One day you feel like nothing is worth it. Next day, you do.
As soon as I woke up, I had a bad feeling there’d be no Time Being today. Enjoy yer break from us and rest them baby blues:)Good luck for the show next week, (have a great time all u lucky fiendss going!), Merry Xmas too if you’re not back by then, I hope you be tho. Steve, I think you deserve as much time off as you want! Like the other kind and thoughtful “commenters”, I too hope nothing serious is wrong and that you just need a breather from pounding away on the keyboard.

Have a great break Steven and kilerbees…hope you got the tickets
Hey K.P. Buk, put the thesaurus down and go for a walk. Your post is supposed to be a compliment but frankly it is ridiculous, absurd, antic, bizarre, comical, contemptible, derisory, droll, foolheaded, foolish, gelastic, goofy, grotesque, incredible, laughable, ludicrous….etc
words are empty, unless you back them up with actions.:( x
Heather, fresh and hard? Paging doctor freud, paging doctor freud.
emaaboutdun-now,;/ :I:) xo

Conserve your energies, old chap, school holidays start at the end of the week…..you’ll need all your strength for that.
Gonna try and get to the gig on Monday, not looking good though. I’m assuming you will rock out regardless. Are you going to Andrew H’s Xmas party in Spring St?

OK, that’s enuff time off Steve, see ya HERE as-bright-as-a-button tomorrow morning OK!love mandy
Is being creative a feeling? An emotional state? Like happy, sad?
Where I come from it is 10% idea 90% hard work. No one sees the 90% until it’s time to take a break.
Maybe you self-confessed fanatics of Kilbey should give the boy a break for Christmas, he is not Jesus Christ.
And with all due respects to Kilby, JC is the western world’s guru of creativity, especially at Christmas and Easter when everyone else’s creativity pales in comparison.
Forgiveness was one of JC’s concepts, very creative I’d say. You Kilbey junkies can add to the list over Christmas and give it to your master when he returns to beat himself while on his search for that creative feeling.
let’s take forgiveness further, it’s a very western concept like guilt i guess, there’s more than one way to paint a cat.
non attachment seems to be a keyto a doorthat once openedcan’t closedespite the minds habitsand conditioningnon attachment is letting goof the cosmic dancethe need to winthe need to be rightthe need to ownand the need to dominatethe need to control the need to desirethe desire to need the need to controleven the thoughts and actions of the mind itselfand what’s left when non attachment is taken to it’s limit?liberationbeinglovethe end of fear.laughter.
not forgetting the very human need,to need knees,Mr Mission,;D x
somehow taking a break makes this even more inspirational – confirming my doubts that killer is human – all be it from another planet
“Maybe you self-confessed fanatics of Kilbey need to give the boy a break for Christmas, he is not Jesus Christ.”
Anonymous, you’re a genius. Go re-read the comments – that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re “fanatically” telling Kilbey to take a break for Christmas.
The level of stupidity of these chicken-shit anonymous morons is unbelievable.
And with that, Happy Christmas and Happy Hannukah (sp?) and Happy Kwanza and enjoy the Winter/Summer Solstice wherever you are…
thanks john, for covering my dollar membership fee this month.
Sometime the morning elongates…across the world I would I watch an episode of some new morning show. And it shows you how strange life can be if your really free…and if your really free how come you put these chains on me??
Give a rest people, our man is taking some time off. Leave him the fuck alone. he is a human being and is tired of being human. I’m off to give the old chap a few hundred bucks cause I can neve repay the way his words hit me at the right time.. Mehhh
My first time here so pardon if dumb question. Is this the guy who sings under the milkey way? My mom really likes that one.
nah,wasnt it ozzy osbourne??haha,;/ 🙂
Yeah, TTB is the milky bar kid.Declared vacant, terra nullius, and we’re waiting for Charlie Darwin and his Beagle to provide a report. Hoping they see kangaroos.
Watch out for the dumb questions too. The oh so classy Queens of Kilbey (Barbie Bandits!) can’t believe our ‘chicken shit stupidity’.
Don’t go doing their heads in anons while Captain Kilbey’s off the boat! They’re self confessed fanatics, beware, ha ha.
How about an abbreviated poem from Australia 1991.
I saw balloons lift into the skyI thought I might flyI felt like a childOn a magick carpet ride
Time tics on it never stopsNo arguing with the clockOur feet planted to the groundlike rockBalloons disappear
I saw the seed go into the groundI never thought to wait arounda flower grew simple coloured roundit’s perfume filled the land
seasons come and seasons gothe sun in summer winter snowbefore we know itwe changeand growlike blossoms passed at our feetunknown
There’s no rule saying you have to blog daily is there? I like when you talk about Bush, Old guys at the pool ect… No need to feel creative all the time. ZToo much of anything is bad i guess
anon at 9:44, I think this is the same Steve Kilbey who sings that song but I’m 100% sure this is the same Steve Kilbey who sings Celestial.
anon at 11:18, nice poem! 🙂
Dear Sweet Steven
You last took a holiday from this blog in September so you are long overdue for another one. Nothing lasts for ever and if you were to stop writing it now we would still be grateful for the insight into your life and artistry it has given.
best wishes to you and yours
