clinch westwood

it is left to me to unentangle all things

it is left up to me ….the down down down

i negotiate gravity

is it that obvious…..?

i travel in song

the silence before music begins

that is where my work is done

into that sudden space i project potentiality

i measure nothing and i fit it up with something

i slip in to a crack in a moment

i rescue the drowning time ghosts

i forge a chain of events

i surf the surging past

the decades are as foam to my eternal shoal

in all ways i am narrowing in on it

that elusive illusive divisive quality

that sublime idea feeling light

that instant you transcend every bond

    clever clever, those little letters
how they make words with a welcomed
    dimension, like little instruments
that creature & measure time & distance
to present the alternative and make us better
thinkers and travelers like little snowflakes in winter
unique, yet all together, part of something infinitely bigger
from the voids and into the bright, ye friends and strangers

You should un-clench. find the femme fatale of love ballad inspiration. more love ballads. so easy to write, so eternal. man, you and your bandmates have written so many great ones. would be great to hear a few more. love the jazzy females.

all best – we give thanks, forever thanks –

Free yourself of those weights that hold up back, push you down. Each step and breath is yours – not theirs not anyones but thyself. Be ever so powerful as the decisions you make. You have driven this map countless times, it can all be conquered blindly. All should fear an respect a man with divine intelligence and a new purpose. If they block the path with their annoyity – pass thru them as if they were not there, they did not exist. Man, you have a whirl-swirl wind occurring over the next bag of days. Control each maneuver – let them behold in awe your sheer power and will.

Determination – salvation- no explanation. !!!
Empower and enjoy each day as it tick rocks away.
For your the fuckn time being !!!

Hi sk, hope today brings you a bit more happiness and not the emptiness you seem to have felt yesterday….as you say “emptiness is my business….”.

Clinch Westwood doing a Clint Eastwood? Yeah, “go ahead, make my day” 😀

    Enjoy your day sk,

It’s Thanksgiving in the U.S. of A. and please – I can’t say it often enough – I am so thankful for the joy you have given me and that you are in this world.

If you feel a void, be bouyed by our gratitude. Surf the wave of our thankfulness and feel the power and force of that wave.

The vibrations you have created in your music are eternal.

    Onward and upward!

    Your Friend in Pennsylvania
(Now in Cocoa Beach, and also indeed thankful to be here!)

i found another one of your songs to drown in
on about a third listen a claw reached out and yanked me inside, fully dressed with my uniform still on —
now i cannot survive without it for even a whole hour —
guess i can get together with david and we’ll cry you a river…
how the hell do you do this? who licensed you to do open heart surgeries?
    you know —
12-octave ranges voices, 3000-notes a second fingers, glossy mags —
on the grand scale of human soul-stirring ability
would weigh less than one of your split hairs

a song as a painting — gouache on acid free translucent thin air
the blank page stares at you unblinking…
it can be intimidating — to break that empty space — that silence —
does it give you a pause sometimes?

Pretty good description of the creative process. Where do the ideas come from that appear in our minds? I wonder about this constantly. “in all ways i am narrowing in on it” You will never reach it, but the quest itself is the point, I believe. When I look at the history of your music, I really do get a sense that you are after something very elusive and magical. It’s what keeps your music fresh and wonderful, IMO.

    Pirate reviews Church live album
    pending official release
    i’ve been listening to
    (deep breath)
    a cd I made
    of the sound
    from the dvd
    sent to me
    of the hard disk recording
    off my brother
    (in another state)’s
    cable tv broadcast
    of the SOH gig

I can’t wait for the real thing

    it’s going to be great

because this ‘interim measure’ of mine
this modern equivalent of holding the tape recorder up to the radio

    is fucking amazing already

I was there that night but wasn’t in a great place

so i was never going to come away from it totally up

but I knew it was good

and this bodgy cd I have
    has been played heaps
    despite the venue
    despite the orchestra
    what comes across strongest

is that this is a recording of a church gig

    its has all the
    and shambolic brilliance
    of the real deal

    only its properly recorded

    the whole thing
    is so beautifully crafted
    that the wonderful end product
could almost be the sort of thing
you four would come up with
if, to add to the guitars and drum
    you had at your disposal
    an orchestra
    in the hands of someone
    who knew all about it
    and all about you

    buy it big folks

make this your last ditch attempt to convert all those fucking recalcitrants
that lurk all over the shop
    those sons and daughters
    those “friends”
that have the temerity to tease you
    about your little problem

    give them a copy
    (an official copy!)

    make this stuff as big
    as stuff this special
    deserves to be
