this chiming man

old light on a new day

cold morning dark room

melbourne flattens out in all directions

the play is over

the sets come down

the scripts left somewhere behind almost carelessly

the actors and players have a small celebration

they talk and laugh out there

travel arrangements

settling of accounts

ticket baggage arrival departure

whats yer next role?

i dunno

where you goin’?

how’d ya feel?

Hi sk, hope the play went well.

Where are all the rave reviews, Melby people?
Did anyone else love Van Park as much as I did? Didn’t sk steal the show?

For Steve and for any other weary souls out there, I just heard this brief but wonderful Congolese tune from Pasolini’s 1964 film The Gospel According to Matthew for the first time today.

I hope it makes you feel the way it makes me feel.

Welcome back to Sydney.Keep thinking of a line from here from last year, rock n roll soldier :)Sydney has had some of those perfect autumn days, hope they keep up. Have you seen the two DD vids for Brother Moon Sister Sun? The more I watch/listen, the more I love it – beautifully sung. Thank you and Martin. I changed my tune since last year. Just one day I forgot why I had been so inflamed about it all and now I still can’t really remember. So just forget that anyway.

Van Park was a great show and a laugh a minute. Was still laughing about it the next day. What a character you played and were SK…..not to mention how GROOOOOOOOOOVY those threads looked on you.I didn’t quite expect to play a small part in it myself, should’ve known I was in the danger zone there at the front 😉 Gotta love that about live theatre though, nothing like a bit of interaction with the audience.
You are thee true Renaissance man!

Sounds like Van Park was a smash, again.
Is there anything that you are working on that excites you to the point
of sharing it with us. We really miss ya here in the states.

Final Analysis: my 2 separate injections ( 3 weeks apart ) into my
cervical spine were both a grand failure. My pain has evolved and mimics heart disease
in my left shoulder/ARM. Oh…what great fun. Also, I apparently am unable to keep the steroids
and toxins from spreading across my body and destroying my physical plumbing.
I’m living on bananas, white rice, mash potatos. Why??? Cuz I couldn’t hold
anything in. I lost 17 pounds in 40 days and went without eating for days last week.
No more PAIN INJECTIONS ( a total of 14 ) into my cervical or lumbar regions.
I cannot endure the hell they cause to offer no relief.

I could really use a new song if you have one up your sleeve….
or did you come here to sing a lullaby…

You inspired me when I read your kind words. I haven’t painted in quite awhile because of my obstacles and challenges. But I really need to reboot myself. I have a few completed sketches , I just haven’t been able to put brush to canvas. Its very early AM here in Chicago and I am going to take this day and make it a better one. I just wish that when I complete it, I could give it to you.
Because I believe you just helped me break away a piece of this ‘wall of pain and insomnia’ …. just enough for me to continue chopping away at it so I can accomplish something , I have been in a creative limbo for some time now.
And I have been very ill for some time also.

Thank you again , you may have helped me in much more ways than just one.
I wish you were not ‘anyoldmouse’ and become an avatar with a great moniker.

          Thanx again !!!

Glad I have helped you somewhat.I have an understanding to some degree of what you are going through. There is nothing worse than been in pain and sick and not being able to find relief even in your sleep. It’s frustrating when the days, weeks and months pass you by.Even harder when all you want to do is live your life to the fullest and spend time creating things. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me and also to tell me about your creative project.Hope you can get stuck into it sooner rather than later!
            All the bestest! 🙂

A good day to discover a new SK/MK track !
Thanks Kohl Ette & David (& Darrin – that was meant to soothe him)
        I wonder if Steve’s next role is a rock & role one…
If another “Let SK/MK write a song for you” project is scheduled then count me in this time.
        Thanks for more music Steve.

Hey Michael…it did help, music has the touch of our almighty ….gently within its arms- I felt better because a smile finally lit up my face. It’s not surprising, and it never will be, how our beloved SK can reach so many in so many different ways…yet all the same. SK is pure medicine , in his many shapes and forms. I will always love him for that- his ability to be thousands of miles away…but a song, heck almost any song, can put you in the same room as he, feeling better about life, about yourselves.

Thanks to everyone for your huge warm hearts, and to Steve…if this idea of a blog years ago, than the construction of this site, getting close to its anniversary, you have truly given so much for so many and you may never even know : where-how-when- and why you touched us and made a difference in so many of our lives , created friendships of people who otherwise would have never met.
You are the true Diamond Gem…ya Diamond Geezer !!!

Darrin did you have your injections under CT with a radiologist on hand? I work in radiology and I know that the calibre of the radiologist is pertinent to success rates. Anyway thats how we do in it Australia, sure it the same over in the US.
Steve, congratulations on your diversity! I would have loved to see that. Good to see JPY having a showcase for his beautiful voice too. xxx

Yes…I believe you are correct. That is the way my procedure is done. The super challenge for my Pain Specialist DR is 3 severe lumbar herniations , one at 9mm, and Severe Neural Foraminal Stenosis of both lumbar and cervical spine. The stenosis is advanced to the degree that my spinal column resembles that of a 75+ year old main with bone loss. Im 45 years old.
I just had 2 consecutive (3 weeks apart) Left Transforaminal injections in 2 disc locations in C5/6 and C6/7. My Left Impending Nerve Pathway is extremely disrupted in my cervical spine , but crazy out of control in my lumbar region. My pain is severely chronic, and than can also become very acute in different areas…a bunch of WTF moments…
None of the countless injections has ever worked or showed any improvement.

It is what it is…its all pretty bad actually…

Hope you like it. I get pain on and off. A bit on again off again at the moment, but mine is the kind that I hope will improve with age. I know how debilitating it can be and also how anything psychologically soothing helps to some extent or even a great extent. It’s not a cure but minimal stress has a great effect as you know 🙂 Sometimes it feels like a full time job trying to achieve that and can be elusive at times, but when you find it you usually appreciate it 🙂

Listen to me, all of those who are children of the night.
Beyond the doors of deepened darkness you shall find.
A thousands worlds for you to live your lives in.
Take my hand and follow me.

Another day has begun under the moon and sun
The circle has been drawn , lifes been prolonged.
What all of you see is not eternity-
What all you feel is not your destiny-

This wasn’t read now by any of you
you are all still awake while dreaming
I just ask for all to not stop believing ,
    in yourselves
    as I often do.

Alas alone trapped amongst the changing leaves
colors drain into one vast wide dark opening
travel blindly and trust your touch and instinct
because another mistake like that and its alone forever
    you’ll be.

Not enough film to capture lifes fleeting moments
yet somehow you always find away predictably
time has tricked you into believing that you
will be able to afford a purchase of more someday

Alas the bridge was not built for two to cross at once
politely an offer is made for you to caustiously proceed
the cables snap as you turn for a last look towards me
as you freefall to your end the same way predicted
which proves my point originally to deafening ears
that we weren’t really meant to be.

I came alive when the sky began falling
    Is my baby there?
The woman I love , I didn’t hear her calling
Bricks and stones are no match for your bones
When all you need is air
Because the roadway is broken and
And there ain’t no use of trying to get
    from here to there.

The earth came alive when the sky came falling
Is my baby there? I swear I saw her here
The woman I love I can here her calling
calling to all the streets that no one can come thru
    Because the roadway is broken
so what’s the point from getting there from here

And we are all hoping that the pathway would return
it still hasn’t today now forever because she swore
She’d be here , even on the day she had died.
    The very day she died.

Happy Easter dear Steve for all that it is worth. The god squad has been inundating me with knocks on the door. They must sense the decadence going on at number one haha (only joking). Does make me wonder though about religion vs evolution. I watch docos and wonder at the most amazing things that nature showcases. Evolution now is a fact, (though still a theory, semantics). I will always have respect for individual beliefs xxx

good point…we really have little clue as to what we don’t know
the sheer compacity of whats out there waiting to be discovered is mind boggling…but does pave the way for exciting times/discoveries
thats unless of course we don’t blow ourselves to smithereens all in the name of whatever
or, more obviously, simlpy run out of clean air or water (not so obvious to the simpletons)

Interesting that phrase ‘we weren’t really meant to be’. I guess if two people gave it a go, that phrase could be said with more certainty than two who had hoped to be together, or one of two who hoped. But not meant to be? We still are. Strangely, we endure while we live. ‘Together’ as in convention? It is such a social construct. What does ‘really’ really mean?
