idyll drugs

idyll daze a bound

so the idyllist is finally coming home to roost

the sound of a gnarly gnarled old songwriter goofing off alone

a bunch of random songs signifying whatever the usual thing is

i just dont know what to make of it

and i’m curious to hear yer opinions

is it good or bad or worse still, average….?

its just what came out

if i did it now it would all be different

i would never have written these songs before or after the last few months of ’12

so here it comes shortly off the old turnaround

some will love some wont

thanks anyway and goodnight

    Idyll provides the ideal frame
    of mind
    tempting, softly suggesting
    suspension of criticism
    more wil o whisp
    than witticism
    not that I know yet
    just guessing
getting in the frame of mind
    to soak it up
    and leave other stuff behind.
In summer afternoons of the mind
    who knows what we’ll find?

        Honour Roll:
        Rolling down hill
        early today to
        the beach.
        The temperature
        breathes fire already.
        ‘Heatwave’ it roars.
        The sea heaves,
        pumping up bodies
        like troublemakers
        and dumping them in
        slow motion, heavy.
        Knowing not how
        I manage to float though
        noticing a figure
        on the cliff edge
        deliberating, regarding.
        I drop my guard
        deliberately half turning
        towards or?
        He decides nay and
        continues on his opposite way.
        The sky turns titanium grey.
        Strange. At midday
        suspecting the weather
is cooler even outside the cave.
        In the relief of evening
        salt is dissolved in steam
        and a watermelon and frangipani
        bliss bomb.
Tomorrow will show at the studio again
hopefully this time at the correct level.
I’m taking myself down a peg or two.
        Descending sometimes does depend on

    average…yeh,that’s my worst fear too.
better to elicit a strong response….for good or ill…..
although,’average’ kilbey compositions are far better than most!

Those there walls beg for a mural…….no idyll hands there, got to shuffle some priorities would like to hear your summers labour, but got to pay the bills and school fees etc first….messaging Holly

Gnarly, you make self sound like an old tree. Well trees have been, well and truly the repositories of the worlds knowledge haven’t they…… I’d paint the walls, even in a rental….they can paint over in the future but would they want to?
Take care Steve…..keep breathing life into the world love Cx

Sam here – After an overwhelming response to our release for ‘The Idyllist’, followed by a few emails and some crafty manoeuvres, we have managed to ‘up’ our manufacturing and are offering an upgraded packaging to you our first few hundred buyers! ’The Idyllist’ will come in a jewel case with a limited edition 4 panel lift out showing extra shots from our cover photoshoot, a foreword and only for print poem by SK. This means we are now able to offer the next 100 purchasers this upgraded packaging (don’t fear those who also managed to secure the poster, you’ll get this too). After this we will be going back to the cardboard sleeve (retailers will not be receiving the upgraded packaging). Place your online orders fast as we’re counting down, we will email you with your order status if you are wondering about whether you made it in… it’s like the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket around here lately!
